Domino's Pizza Inc. has announced the nationwide launch of "The Domino," a logo-shaped, single-serve Detroit-style pizza.
Scheduled to debut across US stores on 31 August 2026, the new product format addresses shifting consumer dining habits toward individualised ordering, single-serve portion sizes, and customisation.
The menu addition fills a specific portfolio gap for the enterprise, offering a personal pizza format tailored for lunch, late-night, and solo dining occasions without requiring group consensus on toppings.
Detroit Style Formulation
The product architecture is engineered around a rectangular pan format shaped to mirror the brand's logo, cut into two portions.
Key formulation specifications and product attributes include:
š Parmesan Encrusted Crust:Ā Baked in a rectangular pan using buttery-flavoured pan dough encrusted with real Parmesan cheese to establish a crispy Detroit-style crust.
š§ Dual Layer Cheese Architecture:Ā Layered with two varieties of cheese to maintain structural hold and moisture retention during baking.
š„« Customised Topping Options:Ā Prepared with the customer's choice of sauce and up to three toppings.
š§ Garlic Finishing Drizzle:Ā Finished with a drizzle of Domino's signature garlic seasoning prior to packaging.
Joe Jordan, Chief Operating Officer, President of Domino's U.S., and incoming Chief Executive Officer, stated that traditional multi-serve pizzas present limitations when individual ordering preferences differ, noting that the new format allows consumers to build custom combinations in a portable layout.

Menu Portfolio and Pricing
To support trial and immediate volume adoption, Domino's is integrating the single-serve format directly into its established value platform.
Key commercial parameters of the launch include:
Value Tier Inclusion:Ā Positioned within the brand's national Mix and Match Deal platform at US$6.99 per item when ordering two or more qualifying menu items.
Topping Tier:Ā The promotional pricing applies to two-topping variants of The Domino format.
Operational Integration:Ā Formulated for standard store oven operations without adding prep complexity across franchise kitchen lines.
QSR Single Serve Trends
The introduction of a dedicated personal Detroit-style pizza reflects broader quick-service restaurant (QSR) operational strategies aimed at driving individual transaction velocity and off-premise sales.
By capturing single-diner dayparts, such as individual workday lunches and late-night snacking occasions, QSR operators can increase purchase frequency outside traditional family or group dinner ordering windows.
The Domino will commence nationwide commercial availability across US company-operated and franchise locations starting 31 August 2026.
