Organic food enterprise Clearspring has expanded its beverage portfolio with the launch of Organic Japanese Hojicha Powder.
Joining the company's existing Hojicha loose-leaf tea and teabag range, the launch builds upon the enterprise's Organic Matcha lineup to address consumer interest in roasted green tea formats and café-inspired beverages.
Roasted Flavour Profile
The product is produced from organically grown green tea leaves that are harvested, roasted, and finely ground in Japan. The roasting process lowers the naturally occurring caffeine levels compared to conventional green tea while developing a smooth, mellow taste profile with smoky notes, roasted nut notes, and subtle hints of caramel and cocoa.
Formulated in a fine powder format, the product is engineered for versatility across multiple food and beverage applications:
🍵 Hot Beverages: Dissolves into hot water or steamed milk for traditional hot tea and roasted green tea lattes.
🥤 Cold Beverages: Blends into iced lattes, functional smoothies, and chilled tea preparations.
🍦 Culinary and Bakery: Integrates as a dry ingredient for ice cream, confectionery, and baked goods.
Retail Distribution and Pricing
The launch supports Clearspring's wider commercial focus on traditional Japanese production methods, organic agriculture, and expanding retail availability for authentic plant-based ingredients.
Organic Japanese Hojicha Powder has commenced commercial distribution on Ocado, preceding a wider rollout across UK retail and independent grocery channels. The product is offered in standard retail packaging at a suggested retail price (SRP) of £8.99.
