Functional nutrition brand Cheribundi has announced the commercial launch of its Recovery and Sleep Shots, introducing a highly concentrated two-ounce liquid shot format. Manufactured under parent business NextFoods, the line expansion translates the company's Montmorency tart cherry formulation into portable, single-serve packaging aimed at active consumers and elite sports recovery programs.
The product introduction enters the sports nutrition and active wellness categories as consumer demand increases for targeted, science-backed recovery tools and non-melatonin sleep support formulations.
Concentrated Tart Cherry Formulation
The development of the two-ounce shot platform is engineered to deliver the functional equivalent of more than 60 Montmorency tart cherries in a single serving, offering a convenient alternative to full-sized beverage formats.
By delivering high concentrations of naturally occurring anthocyanins and polyphenols, the formulation supports muscle recovery, reduces post-workout soreness, and addresses sleep quality through natural phytonutrient profiles.
Marc Seguin, Chief Executive Officer of Cheribundi, stated that the development strategy focused on delivering proven athletic recovery benefits in a portable, single-serve format suited for daily active routines and post-exercise recovery.
Functional Product Lineup
The new shot collection enters distribution with two targeted SKU variations engineered for distinct dayparts and functional goals:
🍒 Recovery Shot: Formulated with 100 per cent Montmorency tart cherry concentrate, rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols to support muscle recovery and reduce post-exercise soreness.
🌙 Sleep Shot: Combines Montmorency tart cherry concentrate with 320mg of magnesium glycinate to encourage deeper sleep cycles without added melatonin.
Retail Footprint and E-Commerce Distribution
The new shots join Cheribundi's existing portfolio of functional juices, concentrates, and gummies. The range has launched in 30-count pack configurations across direct-to-consumer digital channels, including Cheribundi’s official website, Amazon, and online grocer FreshDirect.
Parent enterprise NextFoods plans to expand physical retail distribution for the shot line across US grocery and speciality networks later in the year.
