Asda has collaborated with chilled food manufacturer Oscar Mayer to introduce Pizzagne, a hybrid chilled ready meal combining elements of pizza and lasagne.

Rolling into Asda supermarket stores nationwide on 26 October 2026 under the core By Asda private-label tier, the range debuts across two distinct varieties: Double Pepperoni and Meatball Marinara. Merchandised in an 850g family-sized sharing format priced at £6.57, each meal is designed to provide four servings, targeted at mid-week family dinners and weekend convenience dining.

The product development comes in direct response to consumer demand for greater variety, novelty, and format mashups within the supermarket chilled prepared meals fixture.

Products & Flavours

The Pizzagne lineup pairs the layered pasta and sauce matrix of traditional Italian-style lasagne with the toppings and flavour profiles of classic stone-baked pizzas:

🍕 Double Pepperoni: Layers free-range egg pasta sheets with extra mature Cheddar cheese sauce and rich tomato pizza sauce, finished with a generous crown of grated mozzarella, Cheddar cheese, and double pepperoni slices.

🧆 Meatball Marinara: Combines free-range egg pasta with seasoned tomato pizza sauce and extra mature Cheddar sauce, topped with shredded mozzarella, Cheddar, British pork and beef mini meatballs, and dried parsley.

Both SKUs are manufactured in the United Kingdom using British pork and beef, engineered for conventional oven cooking from chilled in approximately 35 minutes to achieve golden browning and melted cheese bubbling.

Ready Meal Innovation

The partnership between Asda and Oscar Mayer highlights an ongoing trend among UK grocery multiples to drive volume in private-label chilled meals through hybrid culinary concepts.

While conventional chilled Italian meals in UK retail are typically dominated by traditional meat lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, and standard pasta bakes, introducing pizza toppings directly into pasta builds addresses household dinner indecision between pizza night and pasta night.

For Asda, deploying an 850g large-format pack at the £6.57 price point (£7.73 per kg) provides family shoppers with an affordable, restaurant-inspired sharing solution to compete against high-street takeaway meal bundles.

The Pizzagne range is available across Asda stores and via Asda.com from 26 October 2026.
