Suntory Global Spirits, a world leader in premium spirits, has announced two significant executive appointments designed to strengthen its global operating model and accelerate growth across key international territories.

Effective 1 April 2026, Carol Robert has been appointed as President, International, while Carlo Coppola takes on the expanded role of President, The Americas, effectively unifying the company’s North and South American operations under a single strategic command.

International Leadership: Carol Robert

Robert joins the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to Greg Hughes, President & CEO. She brings over 20 years of commercial and operational experience, most recently serving as Managing Director, US Ready-To-Drink (RTD), where she shaped the long-term strategy for the company's high-growth RTD portfolio.

Her previous tenure includes the role of Chief Operating Officer, Great Britain & Ireland at Suntory Beverage & Food Europe. Robert’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to leverage her deep cross-market expertise across the UK, Spain, France, and Benelux to simplify operational complexity in the diverse International division.

"Carol brings deep UK and European leadership experience, strong operational discipline and a proven track record of delivering results across complex markets," said Greg Hughes. "She knows our International markets well and has proven she can simplify complexity, unlock growth and build cultures where teams move with speed."

Robert will be based in London, ensuring proximity to major global customers and international commercial hubs.

The Americas: A Unified Region under Carlo Coppola

In a major structural shift, Suntory Global Spirits is consolidating its Americas leadership. Carlo Coppola, who has served as President of North America since 2024, will now oversee the entire continent as President, The Americas.

His remit expands beyond the US and Canada to include Latin America and the Caribbean (Brazil, Mexico, and distributor markets). This restructuring reflects the company’s ambition to operate as "one integrated region" with streamlined decision-making and a unified commercial strategy.

Strategic Support: To support this expanded scope, Humberto Pérez, current Managing Director for Mexico, will be promoted to Managing Director for Latin America, reporting directly to Coppola. Pérez will oversee Brazil’s commercial organisation and the distributor network across LATAM and the Caribbean, joining the Americas Leadership Team to ensure regional representation remains robust.

"Expanding his remit to include Latin America and the Caribbean allows us to operate as one integrated region," Hughes noted regarding Coppola’s appointment. "I’m confident Carlo will strengthen our ambition and accelerate our progress in these important markets."
