US spirits company Sazerac has signed an agreement to acquire UK-based spirits and ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail business Au Vodka.

The transaction incorporates Au Vodka's core spirits range and RTD portfolio into Sazerac's expanding international brand roster. The signed agreement is subject to standard completion conditions and is expected to close within weeks, with financial terms remaining confidential.

The acquisition strengthens Sazerac's commercial footprint in the United Kingdom, a key strategic market for the group, following its recent investments in the flavoured spirits and RTD categories.

Portfolio and Growth

Founded in 2015 by Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn in Swansea, Wales, Au Vodka has established a strong presence across retail, hospitality, and e-commerce channels in the UK and international export markets. DJ and presenter Charlie Sloth subsequently joined the enterprise as an investor and director.

The brand is recognised for its metallic gold bottle design and expansive flavour platform, which spans high-proof spirits and canned RTD formats.

Au Vodka's core portfolio features a flagship vodka alongside 11 flavoured variations:

šŸ‡ Black Grape:Ā A fruit-forward flavoured vodka formulation.

šŸ‰ Green Watermelon:Ā A summer-inspired flavoured vodka variant.

🄭 Miami Mango: A tropical fruit-flavoured vodka line.

šŸ¬ Bubblegum:Ā A sweet confectionery-inspired vodka profile.

šŸ Tango Apple Cans:Ā A pre-mixed canned RTD cocktail served in 330ml cans at 5 per cent ABV.

šŸŠ Orange Cans:Ā A pre-mixed canned RTD cocktail formulation packaged in 330ml cans at 5 per cent ABV.

According to market research data, UK off-trade sales of Au Vodka's canned cocktail range reached £61 million in 2025, representing a 36.9 per cent year-on-year increase and positioning it as a top-performing RTD brand in the UK market. For the financial year ending April 2025, parent enterprise Aurous Topco reported total revenues of £82.7 million with pre-tax profits of £6.7 million.

International Expansion

The deal aligns with Sazerac's global growth strategy to scale brand equity across high-velocity beverage categories. Au Vodka will join Sazerac's existing brand portfolio, which includes Buffalo Trace, BuzzBallz, Svedka Vodka, and Paddy's Irish Whiskey.

The transaction follows several recent commercial moves by Sazerac to expand its RTD and flavoured spirits assets, including the acquisitions of Texas-based BuzzBallz in 2024, Western Son Vodka, and RTD brand Dirty Shirley, alongside strategic partnerships with 818 Tequila and SipMargs.

Headquartered in Swansea, Au Vodka currently employs 80 people and distributes across 40 countries, including an established sales infrastructure in the United States. Sazerac plans to leverage its global supply chain and distribution network to accelerate Au Vodka's commercial reach across off-premise and on-premise channels worldwide.
