Commercial bakery producer Rise Baking Company has completed its acquisition of New Jersey-headquartered Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery.
The deal strengthens Rise Baking Company's position within the North American cookie segment while expanding its physical production footprint across the US Northeast. The transaction builds upon Rise's ongoing strategy of targeted acquisitions to broaden its product offerings for in-store bakeries and foodservice operators nationwide.
Mark McNeil, Chief Executive Officer of Rise Baking Company, stated that the acquisition brings a skilled workforce and an established reputation for product innovation, providing a foundation for continued investment across customer partnerships and manufacturing assets.
Footprint and Integration
The acquisition incorporates Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery's manufacturing infrastructure and product line into Rise Baking Company's broader operating platform.
With more than 40 years of commercial baking history, Jimmy's specialises in thaw-and-sell baked goods, supplying retail and foodservice channels throughout North America.
Key operational metrics and portfolio additions from the deal include:
🏭 Manufacturing Scale: Integration of three production facilities representing more than 350,000 square feet of commercial baking capacity in the Northeast region.
🍪 Cookie Portfolio: Incorporation of the Jimmy's Cookies brand and the King Krumb Cookie product line.
🍞 Artisan Bakery Lines: Addition of the Ecce Panis brand of artisan breads.
⚙️ Private Label Capabilities: Expansion of specialised product innovation, custom recipe formulation, and private-label manufacturing capabilities.
Operational Continuity and Integration
Under the terms of the transaction, Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery will initially operate as an independent business unit to ensure operational continuity across customer fulfilment, employee retention, and supplier relationships.
Rise Baking Company plans to execute a phased integration strategy to align technical processes, logistics platforms, and commercial development teams across both organisations over time.
Howard Hirsch, Chief Executive Officer of Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery, noted that joining Rise allows the business to build upon its manufacturing legacy while accessing enterprise-scale resources to expand market reach.
Michael Pisani, President of Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery, added that the partnership provides additional operational capital and research infrastructure to meet evolving customer requirements across the bakery category.
