Oatly, the Swedish oat milk giant, has announced a significant extension of its flagship Barista Edition range with the launch of three new flavoured variants: Coconut, Vanilla, and Caramel.

The launch marks a strategic pivot for the brand's professional-grade line, which has previously focused on delivering a neutral, dairy-mimicking canvas for coffee. By introducing pre-flavoured SKUs, Oatly is targeting the growing consumer demand for "unusual, customisable drinks" and the ability to replicate complex coffee shop menus at home.

Functional Frothing with Flavour

The new products retain the core functionality of the original Barista Edition—specifically its ability to steam, froth, and hold latte art without splitting—while integrating popular syrup profiles directly into the liquid.

The Range Includes:

  • Barista Edition Coconut

  • Barista Edition Vanilla

  • Barista Edition Caramel

Rowena Roos, Oatly’s Head of Food and Drinks Experience, highlighted the versatility of the oat base: “The neutral taste of oats make them the ideal foundation for other flavours. Our new Barista Edition Flavours are here to expand the taste universe of your iced and hot coffees, overnight oats, smoothies or anything you would usually add Oatly Barista too.”

Commercial Strategy and Availability

The launch has secured immediate retail distribution. The new SKUs are available now in Morrisons stores across the UK, with an Ocado listing confirmed for next week. Oatly stated that further rollouts to other major retailers are scheduled to follow.

Pricing and Format: The drinks are packaged in standard 1-litre cartons, carrying a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of £2.30.

Market Context

This move allows Oatly to compete more aggressively in the flavoured milk and coffee adjunct category, offering a "two-in-one" solution (creamer + flavour) that simplifies the at-home coffee routine. By fortifying the products with vitamins and calcium, the brand also maintains its nutritional competitiveness against fortified dairy and other plant-based alternatives.
