Dr Zero Zero has announced the U.S. launch of AperZero, a non-alcoholic aperitivo produced in Trieste, Italy. The introduction follows the brand’s existing non-alcoholic digestivo, AmarNo, and expands the company’s availability of zero-proof spirits manufactured within the Italian market.
The launch aims to provide an alternative for operators seeking authentic Italian-produced products for use in traditional beverage rituals, such as the pre-dinner aperitivo and post-dinner digestivo.
Product Profile and Formulation
AperZero is a bitter-citrus aperitivo featuring a botanical profile that includes an essence of peperoncino piccante, which is intended to add depth to the flavour profile. According to the company, the ingredient provides structural balance without overt spiciness.
The product uses natural sources for its colour, utilising elderberries and carotene rather than artificial dyes. This formulation aligns with the brand's focus on clean-label standards and ingredient transparency.
Market Application and Portfolio
With the launch of AperZero, the brand positions its full portfolio to support a range of classic Italian cocktail applications. When combined with a non-alcoholic gin alternative and the existing AmarNo digestivo, the company reports that the products can serve as the foundation for a non-alcoholic Negroni.
AmarNo, which is also produced in Italy, is designed to mimic traditional amaro profiles, offering botanical complexity with a bitter finish. Together, the two products are intended to enable operators and retailers to offer a non-alcoholic beverage programme that mirrors the Italian aperitivo-to-digestivo transition.
Availability and Pricing
AperZero will be available nationwide in the United States starting in July 2026, with a suggested retail price of $36.95. AmarNo is currently available at a suggested retail price of $44.95.
