B&G Foods, Inc. has announced the appointment of Robert âRobâ D. Mills as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Mills, who has served as a member of B&G Foods' Board of Directors since March 2018, succeeds Casey Keller, who retired as President, Chief Executive Officer, and director at the end of last week.
The executive transition comes as the Parsippany, New Jersey-based business continues work to reshape its brand portfolio, improve operating margins and cash flow, reduce debt leverage, and strengthen financial performance across its North American commercial operations.
Leadership Transition
Bringing eight years of direct governance experience on B&G Foods' board, Mills assumes direct leadership over the company's operational and strategic priorities.
Stephen C. Sherrill, Chair of the Board of Directors of B&G Foods, stated that Mills' institutional knowledge of the company's operating structure, brand portfolio, and growth opportunities positions him to execute strategic initiatives rapidly. Sherrill noted that the board selected Mills for his track record in leading business transformations, operating at scale, and converting strategy into operational discipline.
Mills stated that his immediate priorities will centre on operational execution, cost discipline, and accelerating business growth. He highlighted opportunities to integrate digital tools, technology infrastructure, and artificial intelligence into decision-making and operational processes to improve productivity across core brands.
