Quorn Foods has published its 2025-2026 Net Positive report, outlining substantial progress across its supply chain, operations, and product portfolio. The alternative protein manufacturer highlighted a 59% reduction in food waste since 2019 and confirmed that 95% of its product portfolio is now classified as non-HFSS (high in fat, salt, or sugar).

The report details the company's ongoing integration of sustainability metrics into its core business model, spanning ingredients sourcing, manufacturing efficiencies, and foodservice innovation.

Progress on Scope 3 Emissions and Operations

A central focus of the 2026 report is the company's decarbonisation trajectory. Quorn calculated its Scope 3 emissions baseline using 2022 data and reports that 90% of its current Scope 3 data is now based on direct activity evaluation rather than spend data. Through supplier engagement, Quorn projects a modelled 28% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, keeping the business on track to meet its minimum 30% reduction target.

In its direct operations, Quorn has committed to submitting its Scope 1 and 2 reduction targets to the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) by the end of 2026. Operational improvements at the Belasis fermentation plant have yielded a 16% reduction in electricity use per tonne of production between 2024 and 2025.

Packaging Reductions and Supply Chain Ethics

Quorn has implemented several material changes to its packaging to lower its overall carbon footprint. In March 2025, the business removed cardboard sleeves from its Quorn and Cauldron sausages and escalopes, transitioning to surface-printing. This adjustment reduced packaging weight by approximately 20% per product, delivering an annual saving of 75,000 kgCO2e.

Upstream, Quorn launched its Supplier Code of Conduct in 2024. By the close of 2025, 74% of existing suppliers by spend had signed the agreement, which covers ethical, social, and environmental requirements.

QuornPro and the Meat Halfway Initiative

Within the foodservice sector, QuornPro has advanced its 'Meat Halfway' concept, proposing that caterers replace 50% of meat in popular dishes with Quorn products. The initiative was pitched to the NHS as a method to lower food costs and environmental impact while improving nutritional profiles.

According to the report, if 20% of the 140 million annual NHS meals were converted to Meat Halfway dishes, it could save approximately 47,600 tonnes of CO2e and reduce food procurement costs by ÂŁ1.12 million. The blended protein approach is currently being adopted across universities, hospitals, and contract catering operations.

New Product Development and Health Milestones

The manufacturer has continued to refine its nutritional output, achieving a 95% non-HFSS portfolio by the end of 2025. Furthermore, 94% of products sold were classified as a source of, or high in, fibre.

Quorn also expanded its footprint in the snacking category with the launch of Quorn Protein Bites in 2026. Designed for the on-the-go market, the single-serve range is high in protein, low in saturated fat, and available in the following flavours:đŸŒ¶ïž Sweet Chilli,đŸ”„ Roasted, 🌭 Cocktail Sausages

Community Impact and Industry Recognition

The report notes that Quorn exceeded its internal targets for food redistribution, donating 1.6 million portions of food to charities over the reporting period. The company also collaborated with the Felix Food Life Extension Programme to process surplus ingredients into long-life canned products.

These operational and societal efforts were recently recognised by the Food and Drink Federation, with Quorn winning both the Environmental Leadership and Food Waste Initiative of the Year awards at the FDF Awards 2025.
