The inaugural winners of the World Functional Awards 2026 have been officially revealed, celebrating the businesses, formulators, and innovators driving the future of health-led food and beverage development.
Marking its first annual edition, the global awards scheme was established to spotlight commercial excellence, scientific integrity, and sensory quality across the fast-moving functional nutrition sector. From active recovery beverages and gut-health formulations to cognitive botanicals and fortified snacking, this year's winning cohort represents the brands transforming everyday diets into targeted health solutions.
"The functional food and beverage sector is growing at an incredible rate, and it's important that as an industry, we recognise all the innovations and ideas that are developing to better our health and wellness," said Dan Bunt, founder of the platform and awards.
Behind every award is a rigorous assessment process. Sincere gratitude is extended to the multidisciplinary panel of judges, who dedicated significant time, technical expertise, and sensory scrutiny to evaluating and tasting dozens of competitive entries across all categories. Their independent critique and industry insight ensured that every shortlisted and winning innovation met the highest benchmarks of commercial feasibility, nutritional value, and organoleptic appeal.

2026 Winners
The standard of submissions across this inaugural year reflects an industry reaching technical maturity. Rather than relying on generic nutritional claims, participating producers focused on active ingredients, clean-deck formulations, and formats tailored to modern consumer routines.
Across all categories, the 2026 winners show how functional foods and beverages are moving from niche wellness aisles into mainstream consumer baskets without sacrificing taste, texture, or convenience.
