Better-for-you confectionery brand SkinnyDipped has expanded into the sweet wafer segment with the commercial launch of its Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Wafers.
The product debut marks the US brand's entry into ambient baked snacks, rolling out to supermarket shelves nationwide across Target and Walmart at a suggested retail price (SRP) of $6.59.
The launch targets consumer demand for permissible indulgence in sweet bakery, addressing a traditional wafer aisle frequently dominated by high-sugar recipes and artificial additives.
Formulation and Clean-Label
The new product translates classic confectionery profiles into a multi-layered wafer format, combining crispy wafer sheets with peanut butter fillings enrobed in real dark chocolate.
The nutritional formulation focuses on sugar reduction while avoiding high-intensity artificial sugar substitutes:
🍫 Low-Sugar Matrix: Each wafer contains 3 grams of sugar, delivering a reduced-sugar profile compared to standard confectionery wafers.
🌿 Zero Sugar Alcohols: Formulated without sugar alcohols such as erythritol or maltitol, mitigating common digestive tolerance issues associated with polyols.
✨ Ingredient Transparency: Made without artificial colours, synthetic flavourings, or preservatives, holding Non-GMO certification.
"Wafers are one of those nostalgic treats everyone loves, but there haven't been many options that deliver the same crispy, creamy, chocolate peanut butter experience with less sugar and ingredients you can feel good about," said SkinnyDipped co-founders Val and Breezy Griffith. "We spent a lot of time getting every layer just right. The result is a wafer that tastes completely indulgent and still reflects everything SkinnyDipped stands for."
Retail Distribution
SkinnyDipped Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Wafers are currently rolling out across US retail networks, securing initial nationwide shelf placement in Target and Walmart stores.
The brand plans to expand distribution into additional conventional grocery, natural food, and club store channels across subsequent retail review cycles.
