Molson Coors Beverage Company

Molson Coors Beverage Company has announced the appointment of Will Meijer as President, Canada Sales, effective April 13. Based in Toronto, Meijer will join the senior leadership team and report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Rahul Goyal. The move marks a significant leadership transition for the beverage giant as it seeks to strengthen its position in the competitive Canadian market.

Strategic Leadership Transition

Meijer succeeds Chantalle Butler, who departed the company in February. His arrival coincides with a pivotal period for Molson Coors following the recent unveiling of "Horizon 2030," a long-range strategy aimed at building a scaled portfolio across the total-beverage spectrum.

CEO Rahul Goyal noted that Meijer’s understanding of the Canadian beverage alcohol landscape is a primary driver for the appointment. The company expects Meijer to leverage his previous experience within the organization to position its portfolio of beer and flavored adult beverages for continued growth.

Industry Expertise and Professional Background

Meijer returns to Molson Coors after a successful tenure as Executive Vice President of Sales at Arterra Wines Canada. During his time at Arterra, he was responsible for national sales, customer marketing strategies, and brand development opportunities across the Canadian wine industry.

His professional history includes 16 years of prior service at Molson Coors in several high-level capacities:

  • President of Six Pints: Oversaw the Canadian craft beer division.

  • Vice President of Sales: Managed operations for Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

  • Vice President of Brand Activation: Developed market-facing strategies for core brands.

Meijer holds a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Business Administration degree from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Execution of Horizon 2030

The appointment is central to Molson Coors’ efforts to diversify its Canadian offerings. The Horizon 2030 plan focuses on balancing iconic beer brands like Molson Canadian and Coors Light with high-end imports such as Madri Excepcional and emerging categories like Simply Spiked and Coors Seltzer.

With nine breweries operating across Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick, the Canadian division remains a cornerstone of the company's global footprint. Meijer’s mandate will involve closing the gap between the producer and the end-consumer while optimizing execution excellence across all retail and on-premise channels.
