The latest food and beverage industry news and trend analysis

Disneyland Paris has announced a significant expansion of its food and beverage portfolio with the opening of Disney Adventure World on March 29. The expansion includes 15 new dining locations designed to complement the park's immersive storytelling, most notably within the highly anticipated World of Frozen. This move represents a strategic scaling of the park’s hospitality operations, offering a mix of table-service dining, casual terraces, and specialised quick-service kiosks.

High Volume Table Service and Character Dining

A centrepiece of the expansion is The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, located within Disney Adventure Way. This facility is positioned as a premium table-service location featuring views of the central lake. The menu strategy focuses on sophisticated offerings such as Bluefin Tuna Tataki and Gilthead Seabream, alongside a dedicated breakfast service.

The establishment also utilizes a character dining model, integrating Disney Princesses into the guest experience. From a B2B perspective, this location maximises revenue through multi-daypart utility, offering full lunch and dinner menus, a comprehensive breakfast selection, and a specialised lounge menu featuring high-margin signature cocktails and "Royal Kirs."

Thematic Culinary Integration in World of Frozen

The World of Frozen introduces the Nordic Crowns Tavern, a location dedicated to traditional regional fare. The menu design here leans heavily on Swedish and Norwegian culinary influences, featuring salmon steaks and turkey meatballs with lingonberry-style sauces.

The inclusion of the North Mountain Menu—a dedicated plant-based track featuring wheat protein and mushroom sauces—highlights a broader operational shift toward inclusive menu design. By aligning the menu items strictly with the Arendelle IP, the park aims to increase per-capita spending through highly themed, exclusive offerings.

Diversified Quick Service and Kiosk Strategy

Beyond traditional sit-down venues, the expansion leverages a high-efficiency kiosk and casual dining strategy to manage guest flow and capture impulse spend.

  • Café Luminosity: Focuses on elevated quick-service items, specifically gourmet hot dogs with specialised toppings like pea protein and curry-onion bread.

  • La Terrasse Panoramique: Utilises a high-turnover menu of open-faced sandwiches and "New York Rolls."

  • Specialised Kiosks: The introduction of The Royal Röstis (potato pancakes) and The Gourmet Loaves (brioche-based sandwiches) indicates a move toward focused, single-concept kiosks that can process high volumes of guests with minimal kitchen complexity.

Strategic Menu Engineering and Dietary Trends

The new menus demonstrate a calculated response to modern dietary trends. Across the 15 locations, there is a consistent presence of plant-based options, such as the "Magnificurry" pea protein sausage and silken tofu breakfast bowls.

The beverage program also shows significant investment in the non-alcoholic sector. The Regal View Lounge features several "mocktails" using botanical distillates and kombucha, targeting a growing demographic of health-conscious and younger consumers who prioritise premium non-alcoholic experiences.

Operational Impact

The addition of 15 locations simultaneously requires a massive scaling of staff and supply chain logistics. By diversifying the service types—from fine dining at The Regal View to grab-and-go options at Chez Marie—Disneyland Paris is optimising its capacity to serve a diverse range of price points and dining preferences, ensuring the F&B infrastructure can support the increased foot traffic expected with the park's expansion.
