Aluminium bottled water brand Re:Water, owned by Berrington Pure Spring Water, has announced a capital investment of £2 million to construct a new production facility in Herefordshire.

The expansion is designed to dramatically scale output in response to growing demand from the grocery, retail, and hospitality sectors for sustainable plastic alternatives. The new site is scheduled to become operational in February.

Operational Scale: 5x Capacity Increase

Located just a few miles from the company’s existing base to ensure workforce retention and water source continuity, the new facility is five times larger than current operations.

This significant footprint expansion allows Re:Water to install additional production lines and bring more logistics operations in-house. By increasing on-site stockholding capabilities, the move is intended to strengthen supply chain resilience at a time when retailers are prioritising security of supply.

Rhodri Lewis, Director at Berrington Pure Spring Water, highlighted the environmental efficiency of the consolidation: "The larger site would also help reduce the company’s carbon footprint by increasing on-site warehousing and cutting transport movements."

Product Strategy and NPD

Re:Water distinguishes itself by bottling locally sourced spring water in 100% recycled and fully recyclable aluminium vessels, including the cap.

The new facility will support the brand's New Product Development (NPD) pipeline. Following the recent introduction of a 330ml format, the company has confirmed that a 750ml bottle is scheduled to launch in 2026.

Benjamin Rendell, Director at Berrington Pure Spring Water, explained the necessity of the investment:

“We’re growing at pace and were forecast to reach capacity at our existing site. This investment is about staying ahead of that growth. The new site gives us the space to scale properly – adding production lines, increasing stock holding and making sure everything remains in-house and under our control.”

Commercial Footprint

The investment follows a period of robust commercial growth for the brand, which received the King’s Award for Innovation in 2025.

Re:Water is currently stocked in over 5,000 locations across the UK, including major partners such as Marks & Spencer, Pret A Manger, Itsu, the National Trust, and London Zoo. Recent strategic wins include an exclusive stocking deal with Transport for Wales and a custom-print partnership with the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour.
