McDonald's Canada has announced a major strategic collaboration with McCormick & Company's Frank's RedHot®, launching a limited-time menu that integrates the iconic hot sauce brand across multiple meal occasions. Launching on February 3, the partnership represents a significant "flavour takeover," extending beyond simple condiment sachets to include formulated sauces and menu-specific builds.

The collaboration leverages the high brand equity of Frank's RedHot in the Canadian market to capitalise on the growing consumer demand for spicy flavour profiles. Uniquely, this partnership targets all dayparts, introducing heat-forward options to the breakfast menu—a segment typically reserved for milder savoury profiles.

Menu Innovation: Beyond the Drizzle

The limited-time offering (LTO) features distinct sauce formulations designed for specific menu applications, including a "Thick Sauce" for burgers/sandwiches, a "Hot Honey" for dipping, and a "Creamy Garlic" variant for breakfast items.

The Full Lineup Includes:

  • Frank's RedHot® Original McCrispy®: Features 100% Canadian-raised seasoned chicken, shredded lettuce, and mayo-style sauce, anchored by the Frank's RedHot® Original Thick Sauce.

  • Frank's RedHot® Original McVeggie™: Applies the same "Thick Sauce" build to the vegetarian patty, catering to the meat-free demographic often underserved in spicy LTOs.

  • Frank's RedHot® Hot Honey Dipping Sauce: A sweet-heat formulation designed specifically to increase attachment rates for Chicken McNuggets®.

Breakfast Daypart Expansion

In a move to disrupt the morning routine, the collaboration introduces the Frank's RedHot® Creamy Garlic McMuffin® lineup. This range incorporates a creamy, spicy garlic sauce across the standard McMuffin builds (Bacon 'N Egg, Sausage 'N Egg, Egg, and Chicken), offering a savory kick designed to drive frequency among younger breakfast consumers.

Francesca Cardarelli, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald's Canada, emphasised that the collaboration was designed to be holistic rather than a simple co-branding exercise.

"Our fans love to turn up the flavour, and collaborating with Frank's RedHot let us do that, McDonald's style," Cardarelli stated. "We didn't just add heat; we are celebrating this collaboration across breakfast, dunk-worthy dips, and delicious sandwiches. They say it goes on everything -- but our iconic taste makes 'everything' something special."

Availability

The McDonald's x Frank's RedHot® menu is available for a limited time at participating restaurants across Canada. It is also fully integrated into the McDonald's app and McDelivery® platforms, ensuring the LTO is accessible via digital ordering channels to maximise trial.
