Mondelēz Canada has announced a significant innovation for its flagship cracker brand, introducing RITZ™ Drizzled Minis to the Canadian market. The launch represents a strategic extension of the RITZ trademark into the sweet snacking occasion, capitalising on the growing consumer preference for hybrid flavour profiles.

The new product line pairs the brand’s signature buttery, salty cracker base with a confectionery-style finish, aiming to capture market share in the "permissible indulgence" category.

Product Architecture and Flavour Profiles

RITZ™ Drizzled Minis are engineered to deliver a balanced sensory experience, described by the brand as "half salty, half sweet." The format utilises the miniature cracker base to increase snacking versatility and portability.

The Launch Lineup:

🍫 RITZ™ Drizzled Minis Fudge: Features a smooth, chocolatey fudge drizzle applied over the salty cracker.

🍮 RITZ™ Drizzled Minis Caramel: Finished with a rich caramel-flavoured drizzle to accentuate the buttery notes of the base.

The Orlando Partnership

To support the rollout and connect with younger demographics, RITZ™ has secured a partnership with Canadian celebrity siblings Johnny and Lauren Orlando.

The collaboration leverages the duo's music background and shared creative influence to personify the "sweet meets salty" product proposition. As part of the activation, the pair has curated a custom Spotify playlist, integrating the snacking experience with digital lifestyle consumption.

Heidi Chiu, Marketing Director, Savoury at Mondelēz Canada, commented on the gap in the market the product intends to fill:

"With RITZ™ Drizzled Minis, we wanted to create the ultimate sweet-and-salty snack, something that feels fun, familiar, and easy to reach for. They're made for moments when you don't want to choose between sweet and salty. Ritz Drizzled Minis are the perfect snack to enjoy at home, at work, or even on the go!"

Johnny Orlando added a personal dimension to the collaboration: "Lauren definitely has more of a sweet tooth, I lean salty, and RITZ Drizzled Minis kind of meet us right in the middle. It's a snack we both reach for, which doesn't always happen."
